New Orleans is preparing for an innovative workshop designed for contractors. The topic of discussion will be the concept of stormwater management and how it affects our infrastructure, our architecture and our way of life. Living with so much water is no easy task, but there are steps we can take to mitigate flooding and other ills of nature. Much of that mitigation lies in the hands of the people who build this city, the contractors. This workshop was created to explain the concept of stormwater management, review building codes and practices that deal with stormwater management, discuss new green infrastructure solutions, and disclose how stormwater management practices can benefit your business. The workshop will cover the following topics: Basics of Stormwater Management, Construction & Stormwater Management, City of New Orleans Regulations, Constructing Stormwater Management Green Infrastructure, Incentives, Training, & Certifications. This workshop is approved by the Louisiana State Licensing Board for Contractors for 6 hours of CE credit for the Residential Contractor License. All attendees will receive 6 hours of CE credit.
